Some Of The Best Toilets Under $400?
The were some really great toilets in the $300 – $400 price range and when I started looking around (trying to find some of the best toilets under $400) I was pleasantly surprised at the number of toilets available.
Most of the models had a few reviews and some had an impressive amount of reviews. I really leaned towards the toilets that had more reviews, just because there were more people that used them, a telling sign of how good or bad they were. After researching many different models and eliminating one models after another, I was left with these toilets:
The 2887.216.020 H2Option Siphonic Dual Flush from American Standard:
The 2887.216.020 H2Option Siphonic Dual Flush from American Standard is one of the brand’s more premium offerings.
As a two-piece set, this kit may come in more than one box, but rest assured that installation is simple and fast – the Speed Connect system has pre-assembled the more complicated parts, making installs up to 30 percent faster.
Unlike most toilets, the Siphonic Dual Flush not only releases water from the tank outlet. This commode also has a feature called the PowerWash rim, in which water and pressurized air is fed into a reservoir along the bowl’s sides. A flush discharges this water, jetting it from the rim and scouring the bowl clean.
Even with its dual-flush system, this toilet remains environment friendly through the use of its H2Option feature. Users can select a light flush for liquids that uses 1 gallon, or opt for the heavy flush that uses 1.6 gallons to clear out solid waste quickly and quietly.
This unit also boasts of a permanent EverClean surface, protecting your bathroom investment from mold, mildew and bacteria for years to come. I find that the shiny finish of this commode goes well with the right bathroom lighting, aside from being easy to clean.
The CST744SG#01 Drake 2-Piece Toilet from TOTO:
The CST744SG#01 Drake 2-Piece Toilet from TOTO is an attractive, sanitary option for those looking for a full-sized bowl for their bathroom.
The same high profile design as other TOTO models make it easy for users to sit on and stand up from this commode, while its elongated bowl is generous enough to seat the tallest of occupants.
This toilet has a high-gloss finish, thanks to its SanaGloss surface treatment. This permanent glaze acts as an ion barrier that repels stains, keeping the bowl clean with every flush, even after years of use. The smooth, slick finish also makes this toilet easy to clean and maintain, as well.
A fully-glazed trapway helps the oversized flush valve get rid of solid mass in just one tap of the side-mounted chrome lever. This commode features TOTO’s trademark G-Max flushing system, and I found what they describe to be “commercial-grade” flushing performance to be a powerful yet quiet experience.
The CST454CEFG#01 Drake II From Toto:
The CST454CEFG#01 Drake II 2-Piece Toilet from TOTO is a sleek, modern piece of bathroom fixture, thanks to its contemporary design. The toilet also sits higher than I first expected, making it really easy to sit on and stand up from.
The polished look of this Drake II is further enhanced by a shiny gloss finish, brought upon it by its SanaGloss surface treatment.
This permanent glaze keeps bacteria, mold and mildew from establishing themselves on the commode, keeping it clean, sanitary and spotless with regular cleaning.
The same oversized trap way that’s been a signature of the TOTO line is coupled here with the brand’s Double Cyclone Technology. Aside from ensuring a quiet but powerful flush with every use, this design also saves up to 20 percent more water than other toilets that use 1.6 gallons per flush.
This commode easily handles bulk mass with just 1.28 gallons released with every press of its side-mounted flush lever. You would have to remember to buy a seat for this toilet, however – the CST454CEFG#01 does not include one.
The K-3819-0 Memoirs Comfort Height from KOHLER…
The K-3819-0 Memoirs Comfort Height from KOHLER is a stately piece of bathroom furniture, taking cues from the lintels of classic architecture to your home. I think it’s the closes thing to a bathroom throne that I’ve seen so far.
Even as this commode opts for the classic look, the flushing system remains state-of-the-art.
The Class Five technology built into every KOHLER memoirs ensures that flush water rushes into the bowl from all sides, keeping the bowl clean even as it gets rid of solid mass in seconds.
Both tank and bowl comes with detailing that echoes the crown molding of historical design, but form still follows function as the Comfort Height design makes it easy for users to sit down and arise. Small touches here and there establishes this model as one of KOHLER’s premium offerings, from the pre-installed bolts to speed up installation to the polished chrome trip lever. Seat not included.
The Cadet Right Height From American Standard:
The 2467.016.020 Cadet Right Height from American Standard is a sleek essential to any bathroom, with its glossy finish and compact design. The bowl also sits high, like a regular chair, to facilitate use even from those with trouble standing up.
That slick gleam is made possible by the EverClean surface treatment, which keeps bacteria, mold and mildew from taking hold on the surface.
Cleaning this commode is a breeze, thanks to this permanent glaze – just take care to not use overly abrasive cleaning tools, and this toilet will stay shiny for years.
The elongated bowl design easily seats even the tallest occupants, and you can see that this commode is designed with comfort in mind. It uses the brand’s FloWise water saving feature to this toilet’s pressure-assisted flush system, which impressed buyers with its powerful flush.
Buyers were happy to have found a combination of comfort and a powerful flush with the 2467.016.020 Cadet Right Height, although I would agree that the noise can be a bit loud at times. The mostly maintenance-free performance of this commode is more than worth it, however. Note that the seat is not included, despite what some pictures may show.
